/ Here I come, L.A.!
Hello, my name is Connie, and I’m a senior in film studies and production at Hofstra University. The time is coming fast, and I couldn’t be more excited to trade the Atlantic Ocean for the Pacific and the snow for the sun, and see for the first time ever the city of Los Angeles. Since I was five, my dream has been to be part of the TV and film world. I grew up watching “Pokémon,” “Scooby-Doo” and “Drake and Josh.” However, I knew that there was much more about storytelling to discover. That’s why my first trip ever was from Peru to New York as I left my home country to find my voice as a storyteller at Hofstra. Studying at college has been my greatest adventure as I’ve found a strong passion for filmmaking. My dream is to be a writer and director of narrative and documentary films.
From touching a camera for the first time to writing my first script to directing a feature documentary, I know there is still so much for me to learn, and I’m very excited to share this amazing trip with my classmates. New York has given me more than I expected, and now I want to see what’s out there in the promised land of L.A.
I can’t wait to see and learn about the TV and film industry in L.A. from passionate professionals and hear from their experiences. I’m very thankful to all the wonderful people making this trip possible.
See you in dreamLAnd!
